The double wedding ring quilt is one of the signature patterns of the Great Depression.

The quilt has now become bags but here are a few things that happened the same year the quilt was made in 1939:👇🏼

-Germany invaded Poland marking the start of WWII🪖

-The World’s Fair was held in New York, where Pontiac unveiled its “Ghost Car🚘

-Hewlett-Packard Company was founded in Palo Alto, CA

Again, this quilt was lovingly made in 1939 from feed sacks. She was picked up at an estate sale. The quilt was tattered, delicate, ripped, and stained throughout. I couldn’t pass her up so she came home with me. It took a bit of courage to cut it, but it worked out beautifully.
